Welcome!

Dear Friends of Haiti:

This morning I heard from Bishop Duracin in Haiti via Lauren Stanley [our officially-appointed, three-year missionary to the Diocese of Haiti]; and the bishop has flagged me off my February 16 trip. So, I will not be traveling to Haiti for a while... possibly late March now, and only with his approval. The danger quotient is just too high now he said; and we must respect his decisions. I will be returning to Staunton, VA on February 18 and working from there.

Those of you in Episcopal schools, kindly pass the word to any faculty/student groups who have been hoping to travel to Haiti - that next summer is a distant "maybe," and certainly not before. We should know more by early to mid March about future adult participation.

Thanks for all you are doing for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

The Rev. Roger Bowen

Those who would like to help our colleagues in Haiti, please do so by sending your monetary donations to SAES at 1420 4th Ave., Suite 29, Canyon, TX 79015. We will collect those funds and send [ALL TOGETHER, for now, TO EPISCOPAL RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT, DESIGNATING EPISCOPAL SCHOOLS, IF WE CAN].

Gifts to Episcopal Relief and Development will support general relief efforts in Haiti in the short and long term. Gifts which donors specifically want to support Episcopal schools in Haiti may be given through Children's' Medical Mission of Haiti. The Children’s Medical Mission of Haiti is a 501c 3 organization committed to providing support for the delivery of medical and educational services to the people of Haiti through St. Vincent’s Centre for Handicapped Children, Port-au-Prince, and Hospital Ste. Croix, Leogone. It  also serves as a conduit for donations to Episcopal schools in Haiti and also serves as an umbrella organization for related missions in Haiti and facilitates and organizes the Haiti Connection Conferences.

Checks should be made payable to: "Children's' Medical Missions of Haiti" and earmarked "Episcopal schools" and sent to: Kenneth Quigley, 925 Hertzler Road, Mechanicsville, PA 17055
