Oh, The Places You Can Go, when you know what and how to read to littler learners!

Carol is known for her hands-on approach in creating fun, early learning environments and parents of young children have looked to her for guidance as they navigate the world of parenting.  She now  teaches 6-week, 15 hour workshops to parents of early learners covering brain development, the power of reading, learning styles, personalities, positive  discipline and teaching kindness to children. She will be the keynote speaker for the Presbyterian Conference, Houston, in August 2008.

Lauren Burrow
Lauren Burrow holds a Masters in Reading and Language Arts and an honors B.A. in Theatre Arts. She has taught early childhood for five years, including her current position at St. Martin’s Episcopal Children’s Center. She has directed history camps for young students, and has worked with Alley Theatre and Main Street Theatre’s
Kids on Stage shows.

She is entering her second year as an independent drama instructor for early elementary-aged students, where she adapts classical literature for children’s productions.

The Masters await your masterful touch as Lauren teaches you how to make your own classroom books. You will be making a book from her presentation as she takes you through the alphabet with one famous artist at a time and shows you how to excite your children’s interest in art as they learn about  artists from Michelangelo to Picasso.

Judy Matthews
Judy Matthews has been a teacher of preschoolers for over 25 years. After attending a presentation by Steve Spangler, she attended a three-day institute that changed the way she taught in the classroom. She was selected as one of twenty teachers to become an ambassador to spread a hands-on approach to science. Judy has been touring the country giving presentations and assisting at conferences including NAEYC.

Be Amazing! Mix science and Literature. Learn how to excite your students with hands on experiments that tie into books you use in the classroom. Want to  hear “Wow! Come here! Look what I did?” Judy will show you just how to make that happen and you may find yourself saying “That’s amazing!”
