Circle Time Success - Music should be integrated into every area of the infant, toddler, and preschooler's daily curriculum. The staff needs to support the children's natural love of music by providing a wide variety of musical activities in small and large group settings that will boost their memory, attention, and learning. See how the singing bag, puppets, props, and CD's can provide the necessary ingredients for making circle time and transitions a fun and educational part of each day.

10:30 Break
10:45 Session II - Susan MacHugh

Math Monkey's Magical Moments - Learn how to create a developmentally appropriate mathematics program for the early childhood classroom. See how you can bring the concept of sets, shapes, measurement, spatial awareness, patterning, one-to-one correspondence, numbers and numerals, and problem solving into the classroom using props and music to capture a young child's attention and interest.

Sensory Science Centers - Build upon young children's natural interest by creating an environment that encourages children to use all of their senses...seeing, listening, smelling, tasting, and hands-on manipulation. See how to develop a variety of discovery centers inside the classroom and on the playground. Learn how to expand the science program by providing activities that encourage the children to explore, take risks, and have a joyful experience.

Make and Take - Participants will have the opportunity to make patterns for many of the props Susan MacHugh will use in her presentations. Tracing paper, scissors and markers will be provided.
